I'd like to welcome RootsCamp to the BarCamp family. This is an idea that's been pioneered of Zack Exley ( and Nica Lorber that I think you all should take a look at:

THE GOAL: A true, no-holds-barred, post-election debrief - bringing together activists, organizers, consultants, campaign staff, politicians, local/national leaders and technologists - in dozens of cities - using the highly effective "camp" format that has taken the technology world by storm.

As we originally pressed upon the point that the BarCamp model is not exclusively for geeks, it's great to see the model extend outward into the political organizing arena!

This great idea is a clone of BarCamp, strucutured around the similar rules of engagement. I certainly agree with Chris, it's great to see the BarCamp idea morph into new social and cultural realms. Our culture desperately needs new avenues of civic engagement.
